There's an sequence in the film that entirely CG, and involves an absurdly detailed model of a city. Unfortunately it's so detailed that at the moment I'm having trouble rendering it! damn windows memory limits!


In this sequence, the entire background was replaced with a fully CG environment, and actor Don Wycherley was rotoscoped out frame by frame, a process that is painfully, mind numbingly tedious. the camera motion was tracked in 3D, and fire, smoke and dust elements were added in the composite using a mixture of CG and real elements.

Every shot in the film was storyboarded in detail. Here's the above shot. The film is being finished at high def 1920x1080 resolution (click on the images here and most of them are full frame high def)
